Vertu Art Gallery presents

“ From a very young age, I had a camera in my hands, and during the analog era, wasting film was not an option. So, it was essential to be precise and thoughtful. However, I eventually became a painter and sculptor after working as an art gallery director.
Yet, even during that period, the urge to take up photography persisted. Following a series of photography courses, I began developing my own black and white prints. In 2002, the opportunity to travel to Calcutta to create a photo reportage for an NGO reignited my passion for photography.
Having dabbled in various art forms, such as painting, sculpture, stained glass, and icons, I cherished the exploration of these diverse realms. However, I now realise that the joy I experience when capturing a moment with the click of my camera is truly visceral. It's like a second stolen from time, an instant that belongs to the past the moment my finger touches the shutter release, capturing something that will never be reproduced - a mix of emotion and delight.
Alongside this, or rather, intertwined with it, is my spiritual quest. Who am I? Where am I going? Why? So many questions, and slowly, the answers come to me through my encounters and readings.
These answers find a reflection or an echo in my photos, if it's even possible to make the invisible visible ”.
